I hope you all had a wonderful Easter break and are feeling suitably rested and ready to face the summer term!
The children have made a brilliant start back and impressed me with how quickly they have settled back into life in year 5.
We have been looking at adding and subtracting amounts of money, and solving challenging problems involving money, in Maths this week and will continue to do so this week.
This week in Literacy we will begin our fiction unit 'Oranges in No Man's Land'. This is the story of a young girl trying to find her family amid the crisis of civil war in Beirut.
We will start our new Science topic 'Living Things and Their Habitats' this week by looking at how plants reproduce.
We will also begin our History topic 'Vikings and Anglo Saxons' by looking at who they were and where they came from.
A final reminder that cycling week is fast approaching. If you are yet to hand in the permission slip and would like your child to take part, please do so as soon as possible. Thank you in advance.
